Since Scandent acquired its first customer a few years ago, nursing homes have tagged and protected 15,484 items, including over 3,000 dentures, 2,500 hearing aids, and 5,000 pairs of glasses with Scandent.
Since 2015, Scandent's nursing homes tagged and protected over 1,400 dentures, 1,400 hearing aids, and 2,700 pairs of glasses,
Since the start of 2015, Scandent has detected over 270 unique dentures, 460 unique hearing aids, and 470 unique pairs of glasses at critical checkpoints (garbage, laundry, and kitchen) at its customer nursing facilities.
While some of these items were not lost or missing, many of these items were detected multiple times (some residents are more prone to losing items), and each item was counted only once.
That's 11 dentures, 18 hearing aids, and 18 pairs of glasses per nursing home.
Using conservative average costs of $1,000 for a denture, $1,500 for a hearing aid, and $50 for a pair of glasses, Scandent detected over $1,000,000 worth of unique dentures, hearing aids, and glasses at critical checkpoints
since the start of 2015. That's an average of over $40,000 of unique dentures, hearing aids, and glasses detected at critical checkpoints per nursing home per year.
